Going Underground...And Winning!
CHALLENGE: Deteriorating 10 ft diameter underground sewer pipe
SOLUTION: Sprayroq Protective Coating continuously sprayed over 24-hour period
A municipal project completed by Team Elmer’s earned the company the 2008 Sprayroq Project of the Year award.
Sprayroq is a VOC-free polyurethane coating applied to deteriorating underground structures such as utility tunnels or sewers. When structurally rehabilitated, these Sprayroq treated structures gain up to 50 years of life with minimal disruption to a community and generally at a lower cost than other rehabilitation or replacement techniques.
Team Elmer’s is part of a network of certified Sprayroq partners experienced in municipal, industrial and commercial applications. First developed in 1990, Sprayroq has been field-tested longer than any other similar product on the market.
The award-winning sewer rehabilitation project took place in Evanston, Illinois for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Team Elmer’s battled tight working conditions twenty feet underground to line more than 120 feet of 80-year old sewer pipes and grout and coat 10 four-foot diameter manholes. Based on their superior workmanship, Sprayroq presented Team Elmer’s the award above dozens of other nominated construction companies across the country.
In addition to the Evanston project, Team Elmer’s has utilized Sprayroq in dozens of communities throughout the Midwest.
