Parade of Homes / US-31 Miracle Mile Wrap-Up

US-31: All Lanes Open!

We promised it would be worth it! On April 6, when Team Elmer’s first broke ground on the Miracle Mile reconstruction on US-31, between Three Mile Road and Holiday Road, there were some that questioned if the twelve week project would be completed on schedule, and rightfully so, given the numerous obstacles that came with this high profile project.

A short ten weeks later, Team Elmer’s has pulled the dreadful orange barrels off the busy highway and opened up all lanes to traffic!

“Through the hard work and meticulous coordination of Team Elmer’s, we’re so pleased that we can reopen this road fully as the summer tourism season ramps up,” stated Rick Liptak, Traverse City Transportation Service Center (TSC) manager.

In fact, Team Elmer’s, along with the numerous sub-contractors, completed the project over two weeks ahead of schedule! Way to go, team!

This success is attributed to the hard work of all the partners involved, the area business owners, and to YOU as well! This stretch of busy highway experiences upward of 38,000 vehicles per day and the patience exhibited by those passing through was amazing! And traffic regulators did a great job keeping everyone safe and in good spirits with a wave, a smile, and sometimes busting out their best dance moves.

Recycling the existing concrete and asphalt removed from the roadbed into new 21-AA material for sub-grade and new asphalt material for road paving, created innovative ways to save time. With an average of 85 crew members on site every working day, we look back on the successful completion of the Miracle Mile with zero reportable time loss incidents with gratitude!

26th Annual Parade of Homes!

It's time for a parade, but not like the one you'd see at the National Cherry Festival. Every year homebuilders get the opportunity to showcase their talents to the public through the Grand Traverse Home Builder's Association Parade of Homes.

Of the 19 homes on display this year, Team Elmer's has contributed to ten, providing concrete and/or asphalt to the home. The event kicked off this past weekend (June 13th & 14th), however, tickets are also available for this upcoming Thursday through Sunday  (June 18 - 21).
