O Christmas tree!

If you were anywhere near downtown Traverse City last week, you might have caught a glimpse of the Team Elmer's semi-trailer hauling the gigantic tree destined for Cass and East Front Streets.

This year's Christmas tree came from the yard of Bill Hemming and was planted by his mother-in-law Lenore Berlin as a surprise to her husband about 35 years ago. The Berlins planted the tree in Hemming's yard when they moved, and Hemming donated it to the city this year because it was getting too big.

For nearly 30 years, Team Elmer's has been proud to deliver and install this symbol of the holiday season as our gift to Traverse City. And this tree is a real whopper! 37 feet tall, 20 feet wide, and weighs in at 6500 pounds. Imagine that in your living room...Glad we don't have to pick up those needles!

And let's not forget about Santa Claus! With his reindeer resting up for the big day, our crane pitched in to deliver his home away from home. (Does that make Santa a winter fudgie?)

From all of us at Team Elmer's, wishing you and yours the happiest of holidays!
