Team Elmer's Thinks PINK + Our Driveway Winner

We have a winner!

Roxa Delray of Traverse City is the lucky winner of our recent contest awarding $5,000 toward a new asphalt driveway.

I’m still in awe over winning the contest,” said Delray. “I didn’t think anybody won things like this, but I actually did.”

Delray, who is currently a college student, bought a house several years ago to make improvements and then resell for a profit. But when the economic downturn derailed her plans, she found herself stuck with an unsaleable house and a sinking driveway— literally.

The roots of a large pine tree next to the driveway had caused cracking and other damage to the driveway, including sinking and decreased curb appeal.

“This new driveway from Team Elmer’s will really step up my house’s curb appeal—and hopefully its value,” said Delray.

Delray was randomly selected as the winner from hundreds of entries in the contest, which ran throughout the month of April and was open to residents of Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Antrim, Kalkaska, Manistee and Wexford counties.

Team Elmer's goes PINK for cancer support!

Hey, northern Michigan…Think PINK! You’ve seen those grey and blue Team Elmer’s trucks driving all over the region, but now keep an eye out for the bright pink cement mixer and help contribute to a great cause.

The mixer is part of Team Elmer’s initiative to raise up to $15,000 for the cancer support units at Munson Healthcare. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated monthly to individual units such as hospice care/hospice house, patient needs fund, women's cancer fund, and nurse continuing education for cancer patient care.

Each time someone reports a sighting of the pink mixer, Team Elmer’s will donate $1.00 to the cancer support units at Munson Healthcare. If you post a photo, Team Elmer’s will donate $2.00. The initiative runs throughout the summer.

How to report your sighting:
  • Visit Team Elmer’s Twitter page or Facebook page.
  • Post where and when you saw the cement mixer; for each sighting reported, Team Elmer’s will donate $1.00 to the cancer support units at Munson Healthcare.
  • If you have a camera with you when you see the cement mixer, be sure to post a photo—Team Elmer’s will donate $2.00.
  • Become a new follower on Twitter or a new fan on Facebook and Team Elmer's will donate an additional $5.00!
  • Remember, please don’t text and drive.
In conjunction with the pink mixer fundraiser, Team Elmer’s employees have united to form an American Cancer Society Relay for Life team. On June 5 and 6, they will camp out overnight and take turns walking around a track to raise money and awareness to help the American Cancer Society save more lives from cancer.

Team Elmer’s will match every donation made from the community dollar-for-dollar. All funds raised by the Team Elmer’s team will remain in the Grand Traverse area.
