Robotic Total Station
With a large red telescopic eye reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Elmer’s has a new addition to its’ Survey Staff, a Robotic Total Station (TCRP1205). Packed with exciting new features, built for speed, accuracy, ease-of-use and reliability, the TCRP1205 Total Station carries out the most complex tasks, better and more efficiently. And, best of all, it links perfectly with the GPS (Global Positioning System). Some of the standard features include:
1) Remote Control Unit (RX1220)-With this remote control unit and radio modem you can control the TCRP1205 from the pole. There is no need for a person behind the instrument during field measurements. Literally a one man crew! An individual can survey and stake in an open field up to 200 meters at a time.
2) Vertical Measurement-The TCRP has the vertical accuracy (within 1/8 of an inch) of an Automatic Level which will enable accurate elevation staking directly from the instrument. This streamlines the construction staking process for Sanitary Structures, Storm Structures, and Concrete Curb. No more math calculations to check and re-check from the curb hub.
3) Reflectorless EDM (Electronic Distance Measurement)-Measurements can be obtained up to 200 meters without walking the pole to the object. Field measurements are obtained by pointing the instrument directly at the object and the laser distance measurement is reflected back directly from the object’s surface.
4) Automatic Target Recognition (ATR)-You only need to point roughly at the optical sight and the TCRP1205 moves the telescope automatically to the center of the prism which reduces sighting errors.
5) Smart Station Ready-With an additional purchase, the TCRP1205 can be fitted with a GPS (Global Positioning System) Receiver which will allow fixed position relative to a Base Station without having line of sight and multiple control points.
So far, it has seen action at both the Village at Bayridge and Traditions at Ashland Park Sites. It has saved our Survey Crews both time and money with increased accuracy. So stop in and take a look at Hal or Andy – the new unit is affectionately referred to as both – you’ll be amazed how it can help streamline a job site.
