Second 2010 acquisition solidifies leadership position
TRAVERSE CITY, MICH., June 28, 2010—Team Elmer’s announced today the acquisition of Concrete Designs, Inc. (CDI) of Grawn, Mich.
The announcement was made by Team Elmer’s Co-Owners Troy Broad, Todd Broad, and Tonya Wildfong.
This is the second local purchase the company has made in 2010; Team Elmer’s acquired Drenth Brothers, Inc. of Ellsworth, Mich. in April.
CDI has been a local leader in auger casts, helical piers and earth retention. The four CDI employees will transition to Team Elmer’s. The CDI name, brand, and operations will transition to Team Elmer’s over the next several weeks.
Commenting on the announcement, Wildfong said, “Team Elmer’s and CDI both have a reputation for service and honesty. With CDI’s energy and expertise, we can add services that complement our excavation and concrete divisions. We already perform shoreline stabilization and CDI adds another tool in helical piers and tiebacks, for dock, boathouse, and wall support, along that shoreline.”
Wildfong added that the acquisition will also allow Team Elmer’s to expand into marinas and other work relating to poor soil conditions.
CDI Owner Scott Tebben—who will be joining Team Elmer’s as a Project Manager—added, “I’m excited about the opportunity. Having Elmer’s and all their assets at your disposal is a great support line. You can service so much more. We aren’t limited by manpower. We can offer a better job and service more.”
Team Elmer’s, a family owned company since 1956, specializes in site development, including excavation, earth moving, underground utility installation, retaining wall construction, directional boring, manhole rehabilitation, aggregate production, concrete ready-mix, asphalt installation (commercial and residential), milling, and crane/rigging, among other specialties. Today, Traverse City, Mich-based Team Elmer’s has grown to include 300 skilled personnel.
