TRAVERSE CITY, MICH., January 4, 2012 – Team Elmer’s announced today the company has purchased Cordes Excavating of Hillman, Mich.
The announcement was made by Team Elmer’s Co-Owners Troy Broad, Todd Broad and Tonya Wildfong.
Formerly owned by Ken and Teresa Cordes, Cordes Excavating performed a variety of excavation services, including crushing and shaping, underground services, street reconstruction and airport construction. Since 1984, they primarily served the east side of the state from Midland to Sault St. Marie.
Commenting on the announcement, Troy Broad said, "Ken and Teresa [Cordes] were retiring and looking for a company that would take care of their employees as well as they did. We are thrilled that they approached us and are excited about the future with Cordes.”
Team Elmer’s also acquired two quarries in Alpena area, along with 11 truck drivers for quarry delivery. Coupled with the recent purchase of Mohawk Transport, Team Elmer’s is poised to continue its growth into the east side of the state.
The Cordes name, brand, and operations transitioned to Team Elmer’s on January 1, 2012.
