China Update

Last month, Team Elmer's was tapped to assist Sprayroq's new Beijing partner in mastering the protective coating enhancements that the Sprayroq surface application process provides. Our own Greg Town was looking forward to an exciting and exotic business trip to China, where he planned to lend his expertise to this Sprayroq client.



Greg had his passport in hand, his visa approved, and was fully ready to spend roughly a week in China providing hands-on Sprayroq application assistance. Before Greg hopped the 19 hour flight to Beijing, however, the trip was postponed. Currently, Team Elmer's is working with Sprayroq and their Beijing partner to reschedule the project, and the good news is that Greg's newly-minted travel visa might not go to waste. He's eyeing a spring trip, though plans could change again. Stay tuned for updates!

Building Skills, Changing Lives

The Life Works Boys Camp, part of the Traverse Life Center, recently completed its six-week summer circuit. The program brings together at-risk young men and teaches them a new skill each week, all designed to deliver valuable lessons of leadership, service, and work ethic. This summer, the boys were invited to spend a day with Team Elmer’s, where they engaged in skill-building sessions involving landscaping, concrete installation, and active asphalt demonstrations.

During the day, an additional Life Works Boys Camp crew visited the Team Elmer's asphalt plant and gained valuable experience in video production, shooting footage for an informational video about the Elmer’s asphalt process.

In addition to the video production project, the Life Works Boys Camp used the skills they had learned from Team Elmer’s to repair a sidewalk section at Brick Ways Community Living Apartments. The new sidewalk allows for barrier-free ramp access to the apartment complex that wasn’t there before.

Parents of the Life Works boys have reported that their children returned home from the camp with newly mature and respectful temperaments. One of the boys even took the initiative to set up a lawn mowing business in his neighborhood. Clearly, Life Works is a great program, and Team Elmer's is proud to be a part of it.
