Improving Fire Protection Along Hammond Rd • New Cadillac City Plaza

New Cadillac Commons Plaza Completed!

The Cadillac Commons in downtown Cadillac is a beautiful area that has been part of the city's PlacePlan to create a year-round destination and downtown hub.

There have been several improvements made to the property, the focus of which was repurposing the existing parking lot to also include an outdoor enclosed fireplace, as well as a new splash pad! There was even a new archway installed to bring the City Park and Plaza together.

Improving Fire Suppression along Hammond Road !

The Hammond Road project came about due to the need for East Bay Township to improve the fire suppression system in their area. To accomplish this, East Bay Township hired low bid contractor Team Elmer's to install roughly 9,500 feet of ductile iron pipe, as well as about 9,800 feet of C900 12" pipe for the new water main. This would serve as a transmission main for a new water tower implemented into the current system by another contractor.

With the new main in place, additional fire hydrants were installed. Other contractors placed another 300,000 gallon storage tank to provide increased fire protection capacity.

Take a look at the process of installing the new water main in the latest episode of the TEU below!
