Picture the site: Deadstream Road, a gorgeous old two-lane roadway in Benzie County that connects US-31 and M-22. The road itself is short—only about 4.43 miles between those two major northern Michigan highways. For many local residents, though, it’s long been one of the most beautiful drives in the area.
